When LeighAnn from Peace Love Leigh reached out to me to create this « High Society » inspiration shoot—blending the elegance of the past with modern touches through graphic colors, mirrors, and a champagne tower in a sumptuous setting—I couldn’t resist. Elegance, luxury, and glamour were the hallmarks of the atmosphere envisioned by this talented photographer with a heart of gold.
The Grand Hôtel du Lac, situated just steps from Lake Léman in Vevey on the Vaud Riviera, is the perfect playground. This refined venue, with its attentive staff, offers a variety of magnificent settings: a grand Viennese-inspired ballroom, a dimly lit bar with an Asian ambiance, a sumptuous Oriental lounge, and a classic-contemporary lounge.
For this shoot, where the black and white wedding attire contrasted with the vibrant and warm colors of the floral arrangements by Tendance Florale, I chose to create a love letter in white ink on black paper. The chosen handwritten style imparts a spontaneous yet elegant feel, enhanced by the sophisticated contrast of black and white.
To complement the shimmering ambiance of the Viennese ballroom, I hand-calligraphed and illustrated white and black flowers on two gold mirrors: a large antique mirror serving as a welcome sign with « Welcome to the wedding of Carine and Florian, » and a smaller decorative mirror inscribed with « Drunk in Love » to highlight the champagne tower area.
Black ribbons, calligraphed with hot foil stamping, delicately accompany the modern graphic stationery on textured paper by Faire-part à part. Additionally, I calligraphed the bride and groom’s names in hot foil stamping on white, vegan leather luggage tags created for the occasion.
The hand-engraved champagne glasses and ring box add the final touch of elegance to this atmosphere.
The bride and groom, dressed by Badass Bride and Cie and Saint-Frusquin, alternated between grand ensembles and modern, minimalist outfits, with a short dress for the bride and a stunning white jacket for the groom. Bijouterie Balance selected a range of jewelry and wedding rings in the « High Society » theme, featuring pearls, gold, and touches of pink to echo the floral arrangements. The updo and beauty styling were exquisitely done by Lili and Co Coiffure, who expertly highlighted the textured blush pink cape and invited the couple to waltz in the sumptuous Viennese ballroom until the early hours.
The table decor was conceived and set up by Sassy Wedding, and for a sensory delight, the Cupcaker cake, with its graphic and colorful structures, matched the floral arrangements, adding warmth to the black and white ambiance. This was perfectly complemented by a delicious bottle of sparkling wine from La Badouxthèque.
